Students will DO…. create an Op Art piece.
Day 1:
Students will use a the pencil cups and other pre-cut shapes at their table to draw at least 6 shapes anywhere on a 12” x 18” piece of paper that they would like. Then, using a ruler, draw straight lines at 1” intervals vertically across the paper. Using a Sharpie, carefully trace over all of the pencil lines they made. Pick two color markers and alternate coloring every line, being careful to not color in the lines in the shapes. Within the shapes reverse the color pattern already established within the piece.
Day 2,3:
Teacher reviews art criteria for the Op Art lesson. Students continue working to complete their work. Teacher will assist students as needed. Teacher will complete lesson closure activities.
